Hello from South Texas.
This is the first issue of The Launch Pad, my little newsletter for family and friends. I'll write here when SpaceX publishes a new hype video, when there's public launch information worth sharing, or when I have a public-safe update about life around Starbase.
I work in Super Heavy booster engineering at SpaceX. Anything I mention about the vehicle will come from what SpaceX has already said in public — and I'll link those posts so you can read them yourselves.
Come visit
You have a standing invitation to come visit and watch a launch, hosted by me. I can't promise dates in advance (those come from SpaceX), but when a launch is public I'll help you find a good spot and the official livestream.
The City of Starbase notes that visitors can watch from nearby Brownsville, Port Isabel, and South Padre Island. SpaceX also streams flights on its launches page and YouTube channel.
What to read first
- Starship and Super Heavy, SpaceX's official overview
- SpaceX's July 2025 post about the redesigned Super Heavy fuel transfer tube
This site is mine, not SpaceX's. If I ever send you a more private album or note, it will be on its own invite link — not in these public issues.
Hope to see you down here for a launch.
— Charles
